A Structured Programme for Learning and Practice
At Silk Mandarin Adult Camp, learning Mandarin follows a clear and practical daily structure.
Mornings are dedicated to focused lessons, where you build vocabulary, sentence patterns, and pronunciation step by step in small groups.
Around lunchtime, you head out together to explore the variety of local food — a natural moment to practise what you’ve learned in simple, everyday interactions.
In the afternoon, activities and guided outings help you apply Mandarin in daily situations while experiencing Chinese culture. You practise asking questions, handling small conversations, and navigating new environments with the support of your teachers.
Throughout the day, teachers guide and correct you, helping you build accuracy and confidence through consistent practice.
Learn, Explore, and Experience China
You step outside, into the streets, cafés, and neighbourhoods where the language comes alive. You try new dishes, navigate unfamiliar places, and share small moments that gradually start to feel natural.
Afternoons bring guided outings, cultural experiences, and everyday situations where you interact and take part. Things don’t always go exactly as planned — and that’s where learning happens.
Along the way, you begin to understand more than just the language. You get a feel for how people communicate and how daily life unfolds.
You experience this together with an international group, sharing meals, conversations, and discoveries that turn the programme into something more than a course.
It becomes an intensive and memorable period — one where you make clear progress in Mandarin while fully experiencing life in China.
What You Gain from the Adult Camp
During the camp, you don’t just learn new words — you start using Mandarin more actively and more accurately in everyday situations.
You improve your pronunciation, build essential sentence patterns, and expand your vocabulary in a structured way. Step by step, you become more comfortable forming sentences and responding in conversations.
Because you practise every day — in class and outside — what you learn is reinforced immediately. This leads to steady and visible progress throughout the programme.
Teachers closely guide your development, giving targeted feedback and corrections that help you improve quickly and avoid building bad habits.
By the end of the camp, you will notice a clear difference: you understand more, respond more easily, and participate more actively in conversations.
- Clear improvement in speaking and listening
- Stronger pronunciation and sentence control
- Faster response in everyday conversations
- Daily practice in structured lessons and outside the classroom
- Greater confidence in using Mandarin

Silk Mandarin carefully assessed each of us, and tailored the program to our individual needs. We made a lot of progress on our language goals, and the activities provided many opportunities to use new learning while exploring the city.
Special mention to the staff who were all incredibly helpful. They worked hard to give us a memorable summer, and they succeeded!
Honestly everything was beyond our expectations and I would recommend this school to families and students alike. We will be back.

This is my first time in Shanghai and I’ve chosen Silk Mandarin as the place where I’ll study Chinese – I didn’t expect that I’ll not only learn some vocabulary, grammar, etc., but also have that much speaking practice. Lessons are well-structured, the school provides a huge amount of useful study materials for previews and reviews, so I have a chance to go through the topics again, and after every class.
Every teacher at Silk Mandarin talks to you several times a day during the breaks so that you can practice more. I was really afraid of speaking in Chinese, even though I had a good basis, but thanks to the program, I’m not afraid of asking people for help on the streets if I need something. It is also possible to have small talk with the natives now!
Special thanks to teacher Jane – she taught me a lot of new things and it is not only about the lessons, she has also showed me that it is better to try to say something in the language you studying, make a mistake and try to rephrase your answer than to sit in silence and be afraid.
I honestly recommend Silk Mandarin, their lessons and attitude helped me to improve my Chinese level, especially speaking skills. I hope we’ll meet again someday 🙂

I believe that Silk Mandarin is a wonderful opportunity to learn Chinese. The teachers are very understanding and friendly. The exercises we were given turned out to be highly effective. I’ve been studying Chinese at Silk Mandarin not for long, but I already feel how learning it becomes more effective and enjoyable!! My motivation gets bigger after each lesson because classes are interesting and fun. During our studies, we tried lots of Chinese food. It was so tasty and exciting! We also visited many tourist places and learned a lot about Chinese culture. Thanks to our teachers, it’s very interesting to study China more. I’m sure I’ll reach my goals and speak Chinese well thanks to this method.

It was so fun to participate in Silk Mandarin’s Chinese Summer Camp. All the teachers and staff, were so patient and welcoming, and everyone else at the camp was also so friendly, which made it such an enjoyable learning experience. The classes mainly focused on practising speaking in Chinese, which can be very useful in everyday situations. I think these sessions have greatly improved my vocabulary and given me more confidence to speak Chinese. They would also prepare delicious food for us everyday after class, along with engaging activities to allow us to explore Shanghai and learn more about the Chinese culture. Each day was well-planned, allowing us to visit Shanghai’s most well-known sites, including the Pearl Tower. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I really hope to visit again. Thank you Silk Mandarin! 🙂

This is an interesting and fast learning experience
The camp is run and taught by very educated, kind, and interesting people whom you want to listen to. In addition to the camp, it includes entertainment in the evenings. various ponzdki and museums. I will definitely return next year.
It’s a great place to improve your Chinese skills, learn about the culture, and discover new things. I want to praise the excellent work of the teachers. They are well-organized and hardworking. They understand and accept students. I will keep coming back. Thanks to the team for the good work

This was my first time joining this two-week summer camp, and I had a truly wonderful and enriching experience. I came in with the hope of improving my Chinese language skills and left not only with more confidence in speaking but also with great memories, new friends, and a deeper appreciation of Chinese culture.
The classroom experience was one of the highlights of the program. The teacher was very supportive, friendly, and always willing to help. This made the learning environment feel relaxed yet effective. Even though learning a new language can sometimes be intimidating, the teacher’s approach made it fun and approachable. The classes were well-structured and focused on practical communication skills, which helped me improve my Chinese in just a short time. I noticed real progress, especially in listening and speaking.
In the afternoons, we participated in a wide variety of cultural activities. These included exploring famous landmarks, playing traditional games like mahjong, and experiencing local food. These activities weren’t just fun—they also provided the chance to use Chinese in real-life situations. For example, ordering food at local restaurants or asking for directions gave us the opportunity to apply what we learned in class in a natural setting. This hands-on practice helped me gain more confidence and made the learning process feel much more meaningful.
Another great aspect of the camp was the opportunity to immerse ourselves in Chinese culture. From visiting historical sites to learning about daily life traditions, I felt that I gained a deeper cultural understanding beyond just the language. This cultural exposure is something you can’t easily get from textbooks or online classes.
I came in not knowing what to expect, and I’m leaving with improved language skills, greater confidence, and memories I’ll cherish. This camp is a great choice for anyone looking to learn, grow, and explore—all while having a great time.

Small groups ensure personal feedback and steady progress.
